I Have A Song To Show!

This is one of my favorite songs! I listen to it all the time! Every word reminds me of the love life I read about in all sorts of books! It’s very beautiful and I hope you like it too! Ron Pope plays the piano himself and I think it’s really good.

My First Glider Ride!

The Glider is the first plane I’ve been on and I have to say I loved it! It was a dream come true! Something that I will never forget! I am terrified of heights! But this made me forget that! Now the question is, would I do it again? Let’s see if you can guess.

My grandmother told me that a Glider is a plane with no engine, she said that it can be piloted and is easily controllable, a Glider just needs a little help taking flight. Another plane-called a Tow plane-will tow it up into the sky. A long rope is hooked to each plane, so when the Tow plane lifts off the Glider will follow.

I was going to witness it myself “Are you ready?” my grandmother-who was sitting next to me-asked.

I nodded “Yes”. When the tow plane started is kept on its wheels for a few minutes, so did the Glider. Finally the tow plane took off along with us and if any of you have been on a roller coaster before it feels just like what happens when the carts climb into the air. But when you finally get in the air there’s no more roller coaster, just relaxing and flying, which resembles how you feel in a moving car.

As soon as I got into the air the sights were easily noticeable. It was beautiful; all the houses, cars, valleys, and mountains looked like a rainbow. A hint of gold touched every single building, the cars moved like ants in a pattern, farms and valleys made up a quilt of many colors, and the mountains added a nice touch of beauty to the whole landscape. But the fun was just beginning. Because the Tow plane was no longer towing us.

After a few sights the pilot asked me and my grandmother if we wanted to try weightless.

 “What’s weightless?” I asked.

“Well it’s when the Glider swoops down and goes up it feels like your weightless” answered the pilot.

I stared into my grandmother’s eyes, we were thinking the same thing “Sure” I said.

“Why not?” my grandmother added.

The Glider swooped down, my reaction was to clench my stomach and hold onto something, because it felt like I was falling. Then the plane darted upwards, which again still felt like I was falling. After feeling weightless, I was breathing heavily and wouldn’t let go of what I was holding onto until I was sure I wouldn’t fall.“How was that?” the pilot asked.

“A little scary” I replied.

“Next time don’t hold on and don’t suck in your stomach. Just sit back and relax and trust me you’ll feel better” the pilot offered. Sure enough he was right you have to relax and it won’t feel scary.

After a little more sightseeing it was time to come in for a landing. The pilot slowly swooped down which felt like the roller coaster coming to a stop. We were getting closer and closer to the ground every second. “Have we touched the ground?” I asked the pilot.

“No” the pilot said.

“You’ll know when we hit the ground” my grandmother insisted. After a minute or two I was about to ask again when there was a THUD! Followed by a tiny screech and the Glider came to a halt.

“Were on the ground” I confirmed. I climbed out of the Glider with a smile on my face. “That was so much fun!” I cried.

“I’m glad!” my grandmother said. She had known I was afraid of heights so when she heard me say that it was a relief.

And yes it was a lot of fun! So to answer the question I asked before: would I like to do it again? Yes! Absolutely positively yes! But if I did it again, I’d do it way more than once! Now my question to you is, would you like to ride in a Glider plane?

I took this picture myself!
